Membership is open to all dog owners and dog lovers who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club.
Prospective members are encouraged to attend a meeting and bring their family (including well-behaved canine members).
Benefits & Responsibilities
As a “working” volunteer club, the Greater Kansas City Dog Training Club encourages members to participate on committees and help with trials, show prep, training classes, club operations, marketing and more! Many of these functions do not require specific dog-training knowledge or experience. There is a suitable job for any person wishing to support the club.
Member benefits include:
- Discounts on classes, seminars and show prep
- Ability to rent a ring for practice

- Eligible to hold an office
- Ability to vote on all club business requiring a vote
Membership Levels
$40/year – Single
$50/year – Family
$15/year – Junior Member (age 9-18)
Membership Process
“First Reading”
Attend a meeting, apply for membership (\and have the “First Reading” of your application before the membership, which serves as your introduction and basically gives everyone a chance to get to know you.
“Second Reading”
Attend your second meeting where you will be re-introduced (with a “Second Reading” of your application) and be granted Provisional Membership status.
Complete Volunteer Work
Perform two volunteer acts within six month (can be done anytime after your first reading) and return the completed volunteer sheet to the membership chair.
Membership Vote
At the next meeting you attend, your membership application will be presented to the club members for vote. If successful – Congratulations! You are now a regular Member with full privileges!
